Butterflies and Cheese Curds

We had a lovely time in Wisconsin last week.  It was a little bit of culture shock for us and many of the people we encountered there.  There were a couple of times when I thought maybe I really wasn't speaking English because people didn't seem to understand me. By the end of the week, I had a acquired a pretty good Wisconsin accent, though, and could order a cheese curds like a native. :)  Yum!

Because we were gone all week, and I've been playing catch up at work and at home, I haven't had time for any art. :::boo!:::  However, I was inspired by some beautiful butterflies we saw at Olbrich Botanical Gardens.  The story of Dan Capps' collection on display there is remarkable.  I can't wait to paint some of these beauties.

Butterfly gliding
Filmy fringe, flights of fancy.
Speaking winged whispers.

    I found you through BGC little bird today!!! What a great post. You made crispy cheese curds sound like something I really want to try someday. Love the butterflies too.

    Thanks so much, Rasz! So glad you were here. I wish I had an extra large order of cheese curds right now. There is really no good reason that cheese curds are not a staple in Texas, too. :)

    We were, LB! We went there on vacation at the beginning of the month. We stayed in Madison and went to The Dells to Noah's Ark and to zip line, which was really fun. We also drove over to Milwaukee for the state fair! It was soooo hat (my rendition of a Wisconsin accent) while we were there, though. Since we were escaping almost 50 straight days of a 100+ weather, 86 should have been great. It's more humid than I thought. We had a really good time, though.
